Green Buddha collaborated with New Orleans luminary Big Chief Gerald Page of the Great Spirit Warriors Mardis Gras Indian Tribe and youth empowerment movement in the track “Neutral Ground.” The lyrics come from a deep place for vocalist/guitarist Seth Strickland as he recalls moving from Colorado to New Orleans in winter 2016 after an emotional ride of leaving his old band, his old partner, and a 5-acre farm to start a new beginning. In New Orleans, Strickland found himself adopted by the iconic venue Maple Leaf Bar, clubhouse for Krewe of Oak. He spent almost every night soaking up the sounds of legends who hold residency on the stage such as George Porter JR and Johnny Vidacovich and getting in all the “vices” of clean living including crawfish boils and late night Yaka Mein. Alongside Strickland, Green Buddha is comprised of veteran musicians in the Colorado music scene/frequent Color Red collaborators Otis Lande (Euforquestra), and Jonny Jyemo (Jyemo Club) and new keyboardist Olivia Rebodello.
