Freekbass keeps things raw and honest in the name of funk in “Under Krameria.” The instrumental track carries an early Funkadelic swagger as it makes heads bob and seamlessly shifts through sections. A common theme throughout is fat melodies where Freekbass’ signature thumping style is doubled with keyboardist Sky White’s roaring organ. Producer Eddie Roberts helped leverage Freekbass’ vision by keeping it simple with nods to Mandrill and Graham Central Station. After the session, the band was waiting for a title to come to them and found their van stopping under the Krameria street sign in Denver, CO. This happenstance sign is simpatico with the song’s organic nature and the perfect soundtrack for strutting down the street.
