Hit The Deck

ShwizZ transports listeners back to the golden era of 70s psychedelic jazz-rock in “Hit the Deck.” The band laid the pavement with a hard-driving, technical bass line at the forefront which is a defining characteristic of fusion music. Each piece of the puzzle sprouted from that with garnishes of Rhodes chords, a striking guitar melody, and a tight drum groove to tie it together. After catching word of Color Red by chatting with Freekbass at a festival in upstate New York, it seemed like a perfect fit to capture “Hit the Deck” with straight-to-tape recording methods and Eddie Roberts taking the wheel on production. “Hit the Deck” will be followed up by a full-length album with a full-bodied roster of guests to be released spring 2020.
