Box 3: Fanning The Flames

'Fanning the Flames’ is the story of the bands of the early to mid-2000s. All 3 bands were heavily inspired not only by the original funk of the ‘60s & ‘70s, but also by the trail-blazing sounds that were growing worldwide during the ‘90s. Two UK Labels were championing new bands emerging in both UK/Europe and Australia. TruThoughts released ‘Pushin’ On’ by Quantic Soul Orchestra (DJ Quantic’s first band) and ‘Step It Up’ by Australian band, The Bamboos. Blow it Hard Records, home of The New Mastersounds’ very first single, released fellow British band Speedometer’s debut album ‘This is Speedometer.’

There is a consistency that runs through all these 3 albums - driving the funk forward with an understanding and respect of the past and a foot firmly in the future. Pushin’ it on, Steppin' it up, with accelerated speed and agility!
