OUR STORY

Color Red took shape around a question that still drives the work today: how do you help a moment of musical chemistry become a record, reach an audience, and build a sustainable path for the artists who made it? When guitarist and producer Eddie Roberts of The New Mastersounds moved to Denver, he found a city where touring artists were constantly passing through, sitting in with local players, and forming collaborations that existed on stage for one night and then evaporated. After decades in the record business, from Cooker Records in the UK to his own One Note Records, he saw what Denver was missing: an outlet to document the music being made in real time.

So he gathered musicians and friends of the scene inside a for-sale house in Denver's Park Hill neighborhood and made the pitch: buy the house, build a simple analog studio, invite musicians to stay, and release new music every week. It sounded nuts, but everyone said "why not?" Color Red launched in 2018 and did exactly that, logging hundreds of sessions and releases in its first two years. When the pandemic shut down touring in 2020, the label had a deep catalog and no stage to share it from. That disruption pointed the way to Color Red Vinyl Club.

The Vinyl Club began as a curated look back at the funk and soul revival of the 90s and 00s. Over time, it grew into something bigger: a way for fans to fund new music before it exists. Today, members don't simply receive records. Their support commissions new projects, brings unexpected collaborators together, and backs real human creativity. We believe ownership still matters in an era of fleeting access, that discovery benefits from human taste, and that artists need room to experiment.

Color Red exists to build a thriving ecosystem where artists have the freedom to create, fans can directly support them, and human connection continues to flourish.
