If you've been following us the past couple of months, you are probably well-aware of The Breaks, a brand new powerhouse trio of Robert Walter (Greyboy Allstars), Eddie Roberts (The New Mastersounds), and Stanton Moore (Galactic). The group has released two singles via Color Red "Hasheesh" and "SnowBallers" to give you a taste of what's to come.
The Breaks' self-titled debut album arriving on a sleek grey turquoise colorway. Color Red Vinyl Club is offering early access to the record and have it in hand before its May 1st release!
Rooted in the tradition of late-’60s organ trios and hard-hitting boogaloo, The Breaks pushes the sound forward with deep-pocket rhythms, tight arrangements, and fearless improvisation. Eddie Roberts’ sharp, melodic guitar work dances effortlessly over Stanton Moore’s explosive New Orleans-infused drum grooves, while Robert Walter’s signature Hammond organ tones tie it all together with grit and soul.
Between them, they’ve logged countless tours, recorded landmark albums, and collaborated with a who’s-who of the modern jam, funk, and jazz worlds. But in The Breaks, the chemistry feels spontaneous—three kindred spirits locking into a groove and letting it ride.

Matriarch - Shuga T - Exclusive Early Access
Based in Denver Colorado, Tommy Shugart is an artist working primarily on the Hammond organ. At home in his studio, the concept of Shuga T was born through explorations in using reel to reel tape machines to record vintage keyboard instruments along with guitars and drums.
The collection of songs in Matriach is a graduation from the “DIY bedroom studio” environment Shugart was immersed in for debut release Melodies & Changes and explores new territory on a 4-track tape recorder. It is a full-scale studio album with larger instrumentation, collaboration, and a more developed sense of writing.
Matriarch features an outstanding list of collaborators including AC Cole (JJ Grey & Mofro); Parris Fleming (The Parrisan, Harry Styles horn arranger); Armando Lopez (Brothers of Brass); Danny Wytanis (Ghost-Note); Hunter Roberts (Butterfly Quintet); and Matt Lapham (Kamani)
