Mister Rebound

Mister Rebound is the vision of Joey Campanella, seasoned drummer and multi-instrumentalist. After a move to Los Angeles and subsequent lockdown, Campanella neared completion of the Trapped in Paradise Demos and enlisted the help of longtime friends and collaborators Steve Okonski (Okonski, Durand Jones & The Indications) on keys and Dave Brandwein (Turkuaz, New Originals) on guitar and as a producer. The group was later rounded out by Dale Jennings (Orgone, Say She She) on bass, the singular Danke on vocals and was recorded at Killion Sound with masterful engineer, Sergio Rios.

Drawing inspiration from the organ trios of Jimmy Smith and the sparse, shimmery grooves of Khraungbin, Mister Rebound creates late night party anthems that move seamlessly between bedside speakers and being blasted out of your car while cruising down the strip. With a sound that captures that Friday night feeling, Mister Rebound’s debut album Trapped in Paradise is an invitation to let go and get into the groove.
