This vintage jazz revival is a curious thing. On the one hand, there's a feeling of nostalgia and flappers and speakeasies -- a time when music was fun and a little dangerous. But on the other hand, isn't "vintage jazz" just...old pop music? 'Everybody Loves My Baby' definitely fits into the "pop" category in my book with simple chord changes, an AABA form and repetitive lyrics. But when Sundae + Mr. Goessl do pop, they make sure to win you over! Jaunty piano & melodica with Goessl's signature guitar licks had me tapping my foot and smiling. And the lyric change of "I'm his sweetest Sundae...we never get to Monday"? COME ON.
