Tiger King

About this Track

“Tiger King” by Greyhounds puts a Jerry Reed-inspired spin on the legend of Joe Exotic (aka the Tiger King) with silly, yet funky grooves. The group stopped by Color Red Studios while routing to Denver to play Levitt Pavilion in summer 2019. Guitarist/vocalist Andrew Trube recalls reading an article in Texas Monthly about the fabled Joe Exotic while on the plane and it piqued his memory of seeing billboards for Exotic’s presidential campaign alongside the highways of Oklahoma. Eddie Roberts puts a nice production touch on “Tiger King” hitting the reverb chamber on the amp in tandem with the tune’s “roar.” Just as the track itself coincidentally coincides with the now #1 hit docu-series on Netflix, its release now goes hand-in-hand to preface the upcoming bonus episode of Tiger King coming out Sunday, April 12th.
