Last Run

“Last Run” by Green Buddha is a fictional tragedy about a smuggler who is trying to settle their debts in hopes of a quiet, peaceful life with his true love back home. Once freedom is gained and the protagonist makes it back across the border from Mexico, a gun fight breaks out between the smuggler and the law as the lyrics proclaim the fate of “one more rude boy dead and gone.” The Color Red rendition of the track produced by Dan Africano is a resurrection of the tune initially crafted vocalist/guitarist Seth Strickland’s prior project Big Medicine Gang which disbanded in 2016. Africano worked with the band to revise the arrangement and bring it back to life at the Color Red session.
