"Other Side of Town” will tug at your heartstrings with its meditative soul courtesy of Josh Hoyer & The Macy Sounds. Hoyer’s lyrics come from the perspective of someone from an oppressed part of a city trying to find their place in the more affluent side of town. In the end, they would rather return home to face those challenges as opposed to not being true to themselves. Hoyer’s honest lyrics of reflection lay perfectly on top of somber pedal steel work by John Macy and a pensive organ solo by Joe Tatton (The New Mastersounds). This is the second track of a three-part collection to be released on Color Red with a follow-up session with Josh Hoyer & Soul Colossal in late May.
