Let Us In

Originally written by Jason & Peter, 'Let Us In' was introduced to the band as a simple hook being played in the horns. It was then arranged somewhat backwards horns first followed by rhythm section, then the song form, and the vocals last. The tune gets started with a vibe driven drone, evoking images of glitter and disco balls. Enter emcee Moe Betta and his 90's era Brooklyn Hip Hop style. The bridge takes the listener into an ethereal dreamlike space until the guitar lays down gravity and brings us back to the mothership. The intro and outro, also what we call "bookends," were written during reherasal as a whole ensemble.
