Kory Montgomery takes listeners on a journey through the peaks and valleys that life presents in his aptly titled single “Life.” While in Belize, he recalls everyone bustling and discussing a murder case of a prominent woman on the island. The confusing situation and recollection of many holes in the stories provoked conversations about life and the roller coaster of emotions that can be experienced. Montgomery worked with Kramer Kelling (bass), Jeff Franca (drums), Joey Porter (organ), and Scott Rednor (guitar) in an all-hands-on-deck collaborative effort to flesh out the song based on his introspective lyrics and initial riffs. “Life” is Montgomery’s third release on Go MAPS Music, the record label arm of the Vail, Colorado-based nonprofit organization MAPS (Mr. Anonymous Philanthropic Society) that supports artists who promote unity and peace in communities through music.
