Trap

“Trap” by Kory Montgomery is a blues-rock story about the ever-common human emotion of lust. Written in collaboration with guitarist Shawn Eckels (Andy Frasco & The U.N.) and Kramer Kelling, the writing trio spent downtime hashing out demos in three-hour blocks with Eckels and Kelling adding creative input to an old outro idea they had previously played around with. It gave the tune a fresh swamp rock feel as Montgomery’s lyrics detail immediate attraction to a woman while on tour with Andy Frasco & The UN and the desire and shenanigans that would ensue ultimately going years without seeing each other until rekindling the connection into an 8-year relationship. “Trap” is Montgomery’s second release on GO MAPS MUSIC, record label of the Vail, Colorado-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, MAPS MUSIC, that empowers artists to promote unity and peace in communities through music.
