“We are Anagos” by The Voice of Lajorun sings to the notion that we all belong to life. The song calls out to the sons and daughters of Oduduwa (The Father of the Yorubas) to embrace unity regardless of where you find yourself in origin, nationality, skin color, native land, and beyond. “We are Anagos” was written during the group’s travels to western African countries and connecting with Yoruba-speaking people in the countries embracing the slightly different nuances in dialect and that’s where the name “Anago” comes in (the word for corrupted Yoruba language). This track is a wake-up call to all Yoruba and Anagos of the world—We are Yorubas. We are Anagos. We are One.
