The New Mastersounds - Be Yourself (LP) (SOLD OUT)

The New Mastersounds' second studio album represents a departure from the constraints of Keb Darge’s Deep Funk scene and demonstrates a broader range of musical styles - funk, jazz, soul, and some elements of hip-hop. Without the presence of horns, which were a prominent force in the band's the first album, the core quartet - bass, drums, guitar, organ/piano has a chance to shine, and still leave space in the music.

'Be Yourself' features guest performances by Corinne Bailey Rae (on Your Love is Mine) and LSK (on Idle Time).

Album was released in 2003, the first CD imprint on the band’s own label One Note Records. Color Red is excited to offer the very first vinyl pressing of this staple in The New Mastersounds vast catalog.
