Lamar Williams Jr. ruminates on bringing racial justice to the forefront and breaking generational apathy in “Cold As Ice.” Williams reflects on the blessings and strange curses of the pandemic and the heightened consciousness the time presented to slow down and fight systemic racism. Unlike past eras, this was a time where people from all walks of life and all backgrounds would stand up in the streets and put in actionable work to create changes in an oppression system and amplify the voices of people of color. With the hope that everybody can remain on the same team and continue to put in the work, he imparts a core value of love and its ability to heal, grow, and nurture in every situation. Produced by Eddie Roberts at Color Red Studios in Denver, CO, Williams is joined by James Dumm on guitar, Jiho Han on bass, and Will Trask on drums in a heavy funk-rock call for change.
